The album release tour culminates with 2 arena shows in front of almost 3000 people.
To celebrate the album, to be released this Friday, Michael Monroe is announcing a tour in Finland. The tour will culminate in Helsinki at Kaapelitehdas and in Turku at Caribia Arena in front of almost 3000 people per night. These concerts are by far the bands biggest headlining gigs in Finland.
Along with Helsinki and Turku, the tour will stop in major Finnish cities and in the southern neighbour, Tallinn. In addition, Michael Monroe will announce a long tour in North America and Europe in the near future.
On Friday, the band will release a new studio album, “Horns And Halos”. The record is the first full-length album with the current lineup. The first two singles from the new album have already been big hits, “Ballad of The Lower East Side” and ”Eighteen Angels”. Along with Michael Monroe, the band is made up of bassist Sami Yaffa (Hanoi Rocks, New York Dolls), guitarists Dregen (Backyard Babies, The Hellacopters) and Steve Conte (New York Dolls) and drummer Karl ‘Rockfist’ Rosqvist (Danzig).

Vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, uber-energetic front-man & all-round rock ‘n’ roll legend, Michael Monroe, has revealed the album artwork for new studio outing, ‘Horns And Halos’.
The arresting cover art is based on an idea from Swedish guitar star, Dregen, who features in Michael’s current touring & recording line-up…
“I love logotypes that are a ‘little secret’,” says Dregen, “You know, the ones that are more like signs – Van Halen, Crass, HIM’s Heartagram, etc. That was the starting point…”
‘Horns And Halos’ – mixed by Petri Majuri at Seawolf Studios, Finland – is the follow-up to 2011’s critically-acclaimed ‘Sensory Overdrive’, winner of Classic Rock Magazine’s ‘Album Of The Year’ and a No. 1 record in MM’s Finnish homeland.
Monroe’s touring & recording outfit – bassist Sami Yaffa (ex-Hanoi Rocks/New York Dolls), guitarist Steve Conte (ex-New York Dolls/Company Of Wolves), drummer Karl ‘Rockfist’ Rosqvist (ex-Chelsea Smiles/Danzig) and Dregen – have been hard at work in the studio, providing creative support for a frontman whose reputation is genuinely global and whose influence continues to be felt, with musicians of all ages (from Dave Grohl to the original Gun n’ Roses members) citing Michael’s ground-breaking career as a source of inspiration.
‘Horns And Halos’ track-listing:
2. Ballad Of The Lower East Side
3. Eighteen Angels
4. Saturday Night Special
5. Stained Glass Heart
6. Horns And Halos
7. Child Of The Revolution
8. Soul Surrender
9. Half The Way
11. Hands Are Tied
A second single / video from ‘Horns And Halos’ will be made available on August 5th 2013 via Spinefarm Records, details tbc.
Watch the video for current single, ‘Ballad Of The Lower East Side’ (a nod to Michael’s early days in New York, a city he moved to for a decade following the mid-’80s break up of glam punk pioneers, Hanoi Rocks),here:
Spinefarm Records will release Michael Monroe’s new album “Horns and Halos” on August 23rd! The new album was recorded at Park Studios in Stockholm. The album’s first single, “Ballad of the Lower East Side” will be released today along with a new music video directed by Ville Juurikkala. Watch the music video below.
Michael Monroe will perform the new single on Friday night on The Voice of Finland live broadcast. The celebration continues the next night when the band, known for it’s energetic live performances, hits the stage at Virgin Oil, Helsinki.
Michael Monroe’s previous album “Sensory Overdrive”, released in the spring of 2011, was a commercial and critical success which saw the band undertake multiple world tours.
Michael Monroe has been invited to support Slash at Hartwall Arena on Tuesday, February 19th. After a long and respectable career Michael Monroe embodies the energy of rock and roll with his electric and passionate performances. Slash, himself has admitted to being a Michael Monroe fan: “Michael Monroe is one of THE great rock and roll front-men. He’s also a good man and a good friend.”
One of the most important rock icons, Slash earned his place as one of history’s greatest guitar heroes 25 years ago on the Guns’n'Roses debut “Appetite For Destruction”. One of Guns’n'Roses’ idols was Hanoi Rocks with Michael Monroe as their leading figure before his solo career. The last time Slash played in Finland was in Ruisrock 2010 where Michael Monroe also appeared as a guest star during his set. Michael Monroe is currectly finishing a new album, due to be released in the spring. In addition to Monroe his band includes bassist Sami Yaffa, guitarists Steve Conte and Dregen and drummer Karl Rockfist.

We are deeply sorry that we have to cancel our performance at Eurosonic this year. We were very much looking forward to it! But our reason for cancellation is more than positive. Mini Dregen is on his way to this world a bit earlier than planned and Papa Dregen has the most important job in the world, to welcome a mini version of him and show him his first moves! Always ahead of time like his dad!
Everything is well in Stocklahoma and hopefully we´ll see you on tour in Holland very soon again with double D´s kicking some major ass!!
That’s right folks – we are in Stockholm recording our new killer album! As of today we have bass and drums on 14 songs, guitars on 3 songs and lead vocals on 2 songs – and it is SLAMMIN’!!! More later….
Cheers! ~ Steve
We’ve got a brand-new tour t-shirt on sale now featuring the new ‘comic book’ tour poster on the front and every single date that was played during the Sensory Overdrive tour on the back. Check it out here!
