Michael Monroe tour start in the USA on March 11th – The first European show in Helsinki, Finland on April 1st

MICHAEL MONROE TOUR STARTS IN THE USA ON MARCH 11TH WITH NINE SHOWS –
THE FIRST EUROPEAN APPEARANCE IN TAVASTIA, HELSINKI, FINLAND 1st OF APRIL – STALINGRAD COWGIRLS (FIN) SUPPORT

MICHAEL MONROE band will start their first tour of the USA on Thursday 11th of March at San Francisco’s Paradise Lounge. The band will play a total of nine shows in the U.S., five of them on the West Coast and four in Austin at the South By Southwest Music Expo. The level of enthusiasm and excitement is extremely high, since the last time Michael Monroe performed in the U.S. was ten years ago!

Before the actual tour starts, the band will make an unofficial appearance to certain media representatives and invited guests tomorrow 10th of March in Los Angeles at the Consulate General Of Finland’s cocktail party (invitation only) as a special guest.

The first MICHAEL MONROE European shows will take place in Helsinki, Finland at Tavastia Club on Thursday 1st of April and Friday 2nd of April. The band will play two shows – all ages and age limited (18 years and up). In age limited shows MICHAEL MONROE will be supported by Finland’s own STALINGRAD COWGIRLS, a superbly rockin’ girl-trio from Salla, Finnish Lapland. Stalingrad Cowgirls’ new album “Kiss Your Heart Goodbye” will be released by Warner Music Finland in May 2010.

The next MICHAEL MONROE Finnish gigs will take place at Klubi in Turku on Saturday 3rd of April (again two shows, all ages and age limited 18 and up) and Klubi in Tampere on Tuesday 6th of April. MICHAEL MONROE also visits Debaser in Stockholm, Sweden on Thursday 8th of April, and the tour continues to the UK at London’s Islington Academy where they will play the last show of the leg of this tour on Friday 9th of April. After the tour MICHAEL MONROE and his band are set to enter the studio to record a new album for the fall.

MICHAEL MONROE is now also confirmed to play two festival gigs in Finland next summer: Helsinki Live 2010 Festival on Saturday 5th of June (with Guns’N’Roses) and Ruisrock in Turku on Saturday 10th of July.

In addition to the legendary rocker and frontman Michael Monroe, the new band features bassist SAMI YAFFA who has played with a remarkable variety of bands including Hanoi Rocks, New York Dolls and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts; guitarist GINGER who has dazzled audiences all over the world with his band The Wildhearts. Also on guitar on this tour will be STEVE CONTE from New York Dolls’ and Willy DeVille fame.
