From Petri
Q: Milloin tulee uusi studio
albumi?
M: Näillä näkymin
vuonna 1999.
Q: Entä onko Live-levyä
tiedossa? Edellinen virallinenhan on vuodelta -85 (R'n'R Divorce)
M: Ei se mun kirjoissa ollut
niin virallinen. Sehän ei edes ole Hanoi Rocks, vaan Minä,
Nasty ja Andy parin taustamuusikon kanssa. Se tuli ulos täysin
vasten mun tahtoa. Oikeastaan yhtenä edellytyksenä,
että tekisin koko vihonviimeisen paska-rundin Puolassa,
oli ettei siitä julkaistaisi minkäänlaista äänitettä.
Ja vielä niin korni nimikin. Tsk, tsk... Toistaiseksi ei
vielä live-levyjä tiedossa.
Q: Oletko tietoinen Demolition
23:n "Blue midnight"-levystä? Eli onko se Live
vai sama kuin "Demolition 23"?
M: "Blue Midnight"
oli Little Stevenin Publishing Company. Jostain syystä yks
Japanilainen levykauppa luuli, että levyn nimi oli "Blue
Midnight". Naurettava väärinkäsitys. Kyseessä
on sama "Demolition 23" levy.
Q: Oletko levyttänyt
yhtään biisiä Stiv Batorin kanssa? (Siis edes
demonauhalle)
M: Olen esim. 2 biisiä
"I Wanna Be With You" ja "It's A Lie" jotka
ovat Xtra bonus raitoina pian Euroopassa julkaistavalla "Peace
Of Mind" CD:llä.
Q: Onko sinulla tällä
hetkellä voimassa olevaa levydiiliä?
M: Ei varsinaista. Olen
kerrankin täysin vapaa!
Comments: Olis kiva jos
pystyisit tekemääm jonkun fans-only sinkun tai EP:n
jota voitaisin myydä esim. ainoastaan näiltä sivuilta.
Muutenkin levyjä (etenkin sinkkuja) saisi julkaista enemmän
jotta kokoelmani täyttyisi nopeammin.
M: Se on mahdollista.
From Teppo
Q: Milloin uusi levysi on
valmis julkaistavaksi? + mahdollinen julkaisu päivämäärä.
M: Vuonna 1999.
Q: Tuleeko levyllesi taas
lainabiisejä omilta sousikki artisteiltasi ja jos tulee
niin keneltä?
M: Toistaiseksi siinä
on vain omia biisejä.
Q: Kerro live at the Whisky
A Go Go levytyksestä. Mistä sen voisi saada käsiinsä?
M: Tein 4 loppuunmyytyä
iltaa Whisky A Go Go'ssa ja viimeinen ilta filmattiin ja äänitettiin
Japanilaisen Film Crew'n toimesta Mercury levy-yhtiölle
joka julkaisi siitä kaksi videota haastattelujen kera etc.
Itse olin silloin sairas, mulla oli keuhkoputken tulehdus jo
koko kuukauden kestäneen Amerikan rundin ajan ja ääni
veks. En ollut mielestäni huippukunnossa siltä osin,
mutta kai se on OK.
Q: Millaisissa väleissä
olet nykyään muisen Hanoi tyyppien kanssa, onko yhteisprojekteja
luvassa?
M: En paljon minkäänlaisissa.
Ei todennäköisesti.
Q: Näytteletkö
uudessa Andy McCoy elokuvassa?
M: Mahdollisesti.

Q: Do you come to Japan
with BackyardBabies? I want to see you. My dream is to see you.
So I hope you'll come to Japan. I like Michael the best. Michael
is the best rock'n'roller. I have never been able to meet you
because of skin disease on my face. But I'm alright now. I've
get ready for your show. Luckily I got the ticket of BackyardBabies
on November 15th in tokyo. I'm ready! I'm looking forward to
seeing you.
M: No as far as I know,
I'm not coming with the Backyard Babies. Hopefully soon though,
with my own band & show.
Thank You, I'm looking forward to coming back to Japan very much
and seeing you and many others too over there. Unfortunately
I can't say for sure when yet. Probably after my new brilliant
record comes out.
I'm glad for your recovery. Stay well! Love & Light!

Q: Michael, can you tell
me a little about the Finnish movie Hanoi rocks appeared in?
M: Don't know anything about
it. Sorry.
Q: Why didn't you record
the complete song of "You can't put your arms around a memory"
on the Nights Are So Long album?
M: Because it was part of
the sort of "theme" of the album, which was dedicated
to Razzle's memory. The previous song "Too Rich To Be Good"
refers to the tragedy of his accident and quite sarcastically
and judgementally to certain type of people involved. "You
Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory" was Razzle's favorite
song, so part of it only 'cause it ties in with "Too Rich
To Be Good". Just a personal message, like the sound of
a car crash and ambulance at the end of "Too Rich..."
Q: Why didn't you write
more songs for Hanoi Rocks?
M: I did. I just didn't
get credit for me.
Q: In 1984, when Hanoi hit
the U.S., what bands were you guys opening up for? (Especially
in Boston, Mass)
M: We didn't open up for
anybody. We were "headlining" our own club tour. Some
bands opened up for us, though. A band called "Belfagore"
for example.
Q: How and When did you
meet Sebastian Bach?
M: Can't remember for sure,
but I think at the Cat Club in New york at the Skidrow Show in
1988 or 1989 I think. We had the same Lawyer and Business Manager
at the time and I guess I was taken backstage for "photo
opps" & shit and of course to meet this crazed, whacked-out
lunatic Number One Fan of Michael Monroe and Hanoi Rocks. He
was wearing a Michael Monroe T-shirt etc. I think that was the
first time... Thank You.

Q: Are there any plans of
touring Europe before the next solo album is out? Your devoted
fans in the Czech Republic are still waiting and looking forward
to your show!
M: Possibly. Wow, cool,
man! I wanna come and play there too!
Q: Mike,what is your most
favorite lyrics of all the songs you ever wrote?
M: "Smoke Screen",
"Relationshipwrecked", "Always Right", "Loneliness
Loves Me More", "Where's The Fire, John?" right
now for example. All with the help of Jude Wilder of course.
Q: Mike,in Hanoi Rocks it
was mainly Andy McCoy writing songs. What was it like to perform
Andy´s lyrics in case you wasn´t related to them?
Or did Andy write the lyrics for you, so you were related to
them everytime?
M: Good Question! Sometimes
it was like pulling teeth. Mostly I just kind of got into "the
character". I wrote a lot more myself than credited for
and often had to change or rewrite stuff to fit me more. Lyrics
weren't that important at the time and Andy couldn't give a shit
if I related to them or not.
Q: Mike,what is your favorite
video of all those you were in?
M: As far as Hanoi Live,
I liked the "Nottingham Live" better as a gig than
i.e. "Live At The Marquee". Individual videos "Boulevard
Of Broken Dreams" & "Up Around The Bend".
Thank You.
From Damion
Q: When are you releasing
a new album?
M: As soon as I get a proper
record deal.
Q: Is there a chance that
we'll see old unreleased solo songs from you on a greatest package
or compilation?
M: Possibly.
Q: I know the reasons why
Hanoi split after Razzle's death. But why didn't the band rehire
Gyp? Was the chemistry not the same there, or were there hard
feelings about booting him out of the band in the first place?
It seemed a logical choice, and I have heard that Andy still
records with him.
M: The chemistry was not
the same there.
Q: Are you going to tour
the U.S. anytime soon? Fans here would love to see a tour and
a new album.
M: I certainly hope so.
So would I.
Q: What the chance that
a VHS home video with all of your videos and then some might
appear? Some of these videos haven't been on MTV since 1989.
A Hanoi autobiography/biography would be real cool since photos,
etc, are hard to find nowadays.
M: A great idea. Hopefully
a reality soon. It just takes somebody with a vision and the
means to do it.
Comments: HUGE fan Mike,
and would love to see you in concert someday. I wrote a biography
of Hanoi and your solo career for one of my college writing classes.
The teacher loved it!
M: Great! I love it! Send
my love to the teacher! By the way "High School" is
one of my favorite Hanoi Songs. Thank You.
