From Andrea
Q: Why are you always behaving
in a defensive way?
M: Whaddaya mean defensive?!
What are you after, anyway? You can't call me defensive. I ain't
done nothin' to you! (I'm joking of course.)
Q: What was the worst aggression
you have ever suffered?
M: My own aggression.
Q: What present/gift would
you like to receive?
M: Perfume "L'Air Du Temps"
(100 ml)
Q: What do you do when you
feel down?
M: I think of reasons and where
it could be coming from, the feeling, you know. It often has
nothin' to do with me, why I get depressed.
Q: It may sound fribolous,
but what is the name of the body lotion/cream
that you use and has that particular Michael Monroe perfum and
you can feel it even 100 metres away. I love it! share that beauty
secret with me please!
M: I don't wear a body lotion/cream.
I wear perfume...
Comments: Michael,
I know you remember me from Buenos Aires, and after that, I shared
the
backstage with you in Tampere (Sputnik). Diego (my boyfriend)
took the best Michael Monroe's pictures I 've ever seen. I remember
every moment together and meeting you again will be one of the
most amazing things that could happen to me. With love, Andrea
From: 80´s baby
Q: Mitä mieltä sä
oot siitä että fanit tulee keskustelee kadulla tai
keikan
jälkeen?
M: Usually I like meeting and
talking to fans as long as I'm not in a rush.
Q: Mitä mieltä sä
oot Hanoi-levyistä näin jälkeenpäin. Kuunteletko
muita kun viimestä?
M: I still listen to Hanoi
records every now and then. Nothing to be embarrassed about.
All records have good stuff on them. However, Andy's slimey and
sleazy "macho/sex" type of corniness still make me
squirm once in a while. Like "Lick Summer Love".
Q: ootko saanu tehtyy paljon
uusia biisejä?
M: Yes, I have written many
new songs.
Q: ja edelliseen liittyen onko
mitään tietoo uudesta levystä?
M: New record? Next Year's
release.
Q: Ootko sä bändin
jäsenten kaveri myös vapaa-ajalla? Oon nähny sut
ainaki Timpan kaa...
M: I guess I can be pretty
good friends with my band mates when you feel like it. However,
"business is business" and in the end it's always "every
man for himself".
Comments: ROCK ON!! Toivottavasti
nähään keikoilla!! ja Judelle terveisiä!!
M: Samoin - Kiitos - Sanon!
Moi!
From Tommi
Q: What kinds of guitars do
you have?
M: I have Gibson Les Paul,
a Gibson Firebird and an Epiphone aqoustic guitar.
Q: would it be possible to
have a tabs section on your web page?
M: Huh? I dunno... ask Markku
Peconen.
Q: Is it possible to find some
of your old recordings here in Finland or are
they all gone?
M: It is possible.
Q: I just moved back to Finland,
how did you get through your first winter back here in finland?
M: I kept myself busy.
Comments: I really liked Life
Gets You Dirty. I think that it is the best music that you have
ever done.
M: Thank you. I'm glad you
think so and I happen to agree.
From Shea
Q: What kind of car do you
drive?
M: I don't drive.
Q: Are their any plans to do
a show in Canada?
M: Yeah, but nothing concrete
yet.
Q: The song "Since When
Did You Care" has a third verse that starts "Hey you,
out on the Hollywood Hills." Was that verse about Axl Rose?
M: NO FUCKING WAY! NO, when
I wrote that line, I had a couple of people in mind; A certain
british ex-manager of Hanoi Rocks and somebody who worked as
a lawyer in the business affairs department at Polygram Records
when I was signed to them in the yearly 90's.
Q: Whats your favorite guitar
that you own?
M: My Gibson Les Paul.
Q: What is your favorite Johnny
Thunders song?
M: I Wanna Be Loved.
Comments: Thank you! You've
been a big influence on me and my band.
M: Thank You, it's my pleasure.
Good Luck!
From Ville
Q: onks sulla suunnitteilla
tehä yhteistyötä Andyn tai Samin kanssa
lähiaikoina?
M: No, I'm not planning to
work with Andy or Sami in the near future.
Q: mä oon tässä
vähän ihmetelly että minkä helvetin takia
sä et oo ton
tunnetumpi?? sun musiikkihan on aivan omassa luokassaan??
M: Why aren't I more famous?
I'm still working on it... it's also due to circumstances beyond
my control (Hanoi's demise for example, due to the accident).
Q: mikset sä yritä
vallottaa maailmaa taas niinku Hanoin kanssa?
M: Why aren't I conquering
the world like with Hanoi?
But I AM, darling...
Q: Michael Monroe, Andy McCoy,
Sam Yaffa, Slash,...Gyp Casino?....siinä
sulle bändi....minkä kanssa sä voisit vallottaa
maailman...vai mitä? mä kyl
melkeen luulen et sä vastaat että sulla on nyt hyvä
bändi...
M: What is aabout this "Conquering
the world" shit anyway? "For what does it profit a
man if he should gain the whole world..." etc. (Jesus).
Not with those guys, except maybe Slash someday...
Q: Kiitti sun musiikista! mä
en muuta nykyään kuuntelekaan ku sua ja Hanoi Rocksia....olisitte
vaan jatkanu Hanoin kanssa...kyllä se fiilis olis sieltä
löytyny
M: Yeah, right...
Comments: Kiitos vielä
kerran sun musiikista! sua parempaa rokkaria ei
maailmasta löydy!
M: Kiitos! Thank You!

Q: hi mike.my name is pat murray
ihave always been a true fan of yours.i am a singer in a band
called the sleepeaters,we are influenced by yourself and people
like stiv and iggy and the seeds.imet a bloke called rene berg
the other day and he said that he played in the rocks for a while.hes
not very well and he was off his head on speedballs.please send
me a message to let me know how your keeping.next month we are
going to the staes to play with the fuzztones.goodbye for now
mike. pat murray.
M: Sounds like you have a cool
band.
I never considered rene berg ever being in Hanoi Rocks 'cos it
wasn't Hanoi anymore at that point. He did the last miserable
tour of Poland when I had already decided to break up the band.
So that's his 2 seconds of fame... "off his head" sounds
familiar...
Comments: hanoi rocks me every
morning.
M: Alright!*
From OZZI THE ROSE*
Q: Bäng bäng!Hey
MIKE!Yo were on tour with IGGY just recently.Did you guys hangout
together?Maybe even jam something together on stage !?
M: There wasn't much time to
hang out. My band had no hotels so we started driving at nights
to the next gig, we lived on the bus. We'd be at the next venue
about 5 - 6 am, my dreaded moment when the mad control freak
busdriver would come to the back of the bus to tell me to turn
down my guitar or the music because he had to go to sleep. I
can't sleep on the bus so I'd usually be up playing guitar. As
for Iggy for example, he would take the train, which was probaly
a good move.
I got up on stage to dance during "Passenger" one night
at his show. He was naturally as brilliant as ever.
Q: What´s your"
relationship" with alcohol these days? Bottle of red sometimes?
Case of beer for breakfast? No alcohol at all?
M: No alcohol at all.
Q: Does the names DOGS DÁMOUR&TYLA
say anything to you?
M: Yes - Alcohol.
Q: What about reading?!Do you
maybe read novels?short-stories?poetry? (tulix mun `kaikki unelmat
samassa pullossa`koskaan perille?) Any favourite authors?!
M: I used to read more in the
past. Nowadays mainly Rock'n'Roll books. The latest: Michael
Bruce - the true story behind the Alice Cooper Band, "No
More Mr. Nice Guy".
Jim Morrison, Anthony Burgess, William Burroughs...
Q: OK...when am i gonna play
"Can´t put your arms around a memory" acousticly
together with you here in Oulu at your gig ??? !!! ( i mean this
man !!! )( ...yes,se ois makeeta !)
M: I don't know. When did I
agree to do this?
Comments: HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU
AND JUDE !
LOTS OF LOVE !****
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
M: Thanxxx! Lots Of Love To
You.
From A.
Q: Could you tell me something
about Hanoi Rocks before Any & Sam joined in? Like, who were
in the original line-up, How many gigs did you play, where, etc...?
M: Me and Nasty + Guitarist
Stefan Piesnack, Bassist Nedo & drummer Peki. We did maybe
7 or 8, maybe 10 gigs altogether in Finland. Two of them at The
Tavastia Club in Helsinki where Zeppo Vesterinen saw us and wanted
to start managing us, which eventually he did. Stefan had this
shady kinda character being pals with him and acting, or trying
to act as a manager booking some dodgy gigs. Them two used to
sit in the front seat of the van smoking their hash and snubbing
the rest of us! I wasn't gonna watch that for long and after
the second gig at Tavastia I fired everyone, except Nasty.
From Orpana
Q: Oletko levyttänyt ennen
Hanoi Rocksia? Esim. Löytyykö Maukka Perusjäkän
levyiltä sinun saksofi?
M: No I did not record before
Hanoi. I don't play sax on "Maukka Perusjätkä"
record.
Q: Oletko nykyään
missään tekemisissä Axl Rosen kanssa?
M: I haven't been in touch
with Axl for quite a while.
Q: Paljon levyjäsi on
myyty maailmanlaajuisesti?
M: I don't know how many records
I've sold altogether in the world. I would guess, with Hanoi
included at least a half a million or so.
Q: Miksei uudesta lyvystäsi
ole sinkkuja?
M: Why aren't there any singles
off my new album. Because they're all singles, too hard to pick!
(Ha ha - I'm joking.)
Ask my record label.
Q: Mikä on paras keikkapaikka
Suomessa?
M: Best venue in Finland maybe
"Tavastia" or "Nosturi" in Helsinki.
From Jani
Q: MITÄ TULEVAISUUDEN
SUUNNITELMIA SULLA ON?
M: Future plans?
I never planned anything in my life!
Well, a Spanish tour this month and a U.S. tour is in the works...
Q: PIDÄTKÖ MITÄÄN
YHTEYTTÄ VANHOIHIN HANOI KAVEREIHIN?
M: I don't keep in touch much
with my old "Hanoi pals".
Q: IKIMUISTOISIN TYÖTOVERSI?
M: My most memorable collaborator
would have to be Stiv Bators.
Q: AIJOTKO ASUA LOPUN IKÄSI
SUOMESSA JA HEITÄÄ NOITA PIKKUKEIKKOJA VAI HAAVEILETKO
VIELÄ SUURESTA MENESTYKSESTÄ?
M: I don't know if I'm going
to stay in Finland indefinitely.
I don't just do "little gigs" for your informatino.
No I don't dream about huge success. To me success is what I
am doing already: doing what I love without compromise and making
a living...
Q: MITÄ OLISIT TEHNYT
TOISIN URALLASI JOS SINULLA OLISI SIIHEN MAHDOLLISUUS?
M: What would I have done differently
in my career if I had a chance? Well you can't change the past
and everything happens for a reason... So I have no regrets.
Comments: Keep Rockin´....
M: You know it! Thank You.
From KENNY
Q: What songs do you like to
play live the most ?
M: I like "Nothing's Alright",
"Dysfunctional", "Relationshipwrecked", "Make
It Go Away", "Life Gets You Dirty", "No Menas
No", "I Wanna Be Loved", "Loneliness Loves
Me More", "Ain't It Fun", "Machine Gun Etiquette",
"Not Fakin' It", "Nights Are So Long" to
name a few of my Live Faves.
Q: On scale 1 to 10 , what
is the chance you will ever play in Houston Texas?
M: Maybe 7 or 8?
Q: Do you collect Stuff yourself
from Hanoi rocks like posters , books,
shirts etc , and if you do how big is your collection ?
M: I've kept a bunch of stuff
over the years but I've also sold a lot of my precious things...
A lot of them to Mr. Kalevi Haanpää in Finland. He
must have an amazing collection by now. I've kept most tour books
and press and I have a lot of photos & stuff.
Q: Dream of mine would be to
meet you and recieve a Harmonica , Who do you dream of meeting
and what special item would you like from them?
M: No one in particular I can
think of in the Rock world but I'd be glad to meet you and most
likely give you harp as well, in order to realize your dream.
Im makes me happy if I can make people happy.
Comments: Micheal .. I always
figured somewhere down the line i'd have chance to meet you .
its Been 28 years and i still havent given up . But in case i
never get the chance i'd like to take this oppertunity to say
what i would of said to you , and that is simply "Thanks".
Your music has entertained and inspired me throughout the years
and collecting memorbilia from your career has given me hobbie
i truely enjoy . thanx 4 being a Rock n Roll Idol a kid could
grow up with and still be a fan of because you kept true to yourself
and the fans and didnt stray away from what you do best .. Entertain
M: Thank YOU so much. I hope
to see you down the road!
To be continued...
