GUESTBOOK OF NOVEMBER 2002

well, the new album is full of great songs. it's just that thing that people expect so much that any album would be kinda disappointment for some people. but comparing to the older hanoialbums, it's (as natural and expected) more monroe-sounding and very similar to monroes solowork. because of many things; experiment, increased studio-equipments, monroe writing more and so on. but after all, it's very great album. in its style, the best album for many years.

What are your impressions about the new Hanoi Rocks CD? Unfortunately I haven't heard it yet. How does it compare to the old Hanoi records? Is this the best Hanoi album ever? I heard it sold gold before it was even released. Cool!

Those who are first claiming that they're winners are most likely the worst losers. Henkka was bold enough to admit he's loser. I'm a loser too. Sometimes we all are losers and that's just life :) But the most important thing is that we should accept ourselves the way we are and just have fun and enjoy our lives! Life is too short to worry about all nonsense. We should live the way we like and enjoy - not give a shit what others say! That's important! May Hanoi be with you!

The losers are those who live rock'n'roll life by drinking and taking drugs most of their time. And OK, there are many of them in Helsinki. They don't understand that rock'n'roll lifestyle is just a myth and if you take it seriously you end up being a loser. Mike Monroe is actually a hard working man in entertainment business ("all hard work and discipline" a line from Go Hard) not just a weirdo black clothes in a rock'n'roll pub.

What this crap about losers? How many of middle aged Metallica or Mötley Crüe fans are losers then? Mike has said that many old Hanoi fans who salute him out there are now directors and stuff, that is lifes's been good for them. And Hanoi wasn't a bad influence after all, despite all the druqs 'n' stuff. The philosophical thing about Hanoi was just that be what you are and go your own way. That's independent strenght! That's way the old Hanoi fans are mostly succesful. Of course there are exceptions: if you are a 40 year old guy and try still dress Hanoi every day, then probably you are a loner. But generally the point with Hanoi was just that anti-loser, anti-redneck attitude.

no, this is the regular version, cost FIM 100 mk / 16,7e. not very expensive but I wouldn't pay that kind of money for every single. I'm collector of Hanoi Rocks but I only buy the Finnish Hanoi records. Only if some single or album hasn't been published by Finnish label, then I buy some CBS, Lick or whatever there are those.. there must be over 100 labels in the world which has published hanoi records.

I have CBS published maxi-single version of "Don't You Ever Leave Me". Interesting thing about this is that the song is somehow different than the album version but there's no any writing or message about it on the record. The drum sound is much more powerfull, it hits the bass sound much lower which makes the rhythm sound cooler, better. on the album version there is some talkin in the middle of the song, I can't remeber what but on this version, it is talked... SPANISH!? I don't know but I know it's not English. Finnish label Johanna or AAB-tuotanto hasn't ever made this song as a single so I quess this is the only one version and it's only published on CBS, am I right? But those who doesn't have this, go get it! It's worth of 20 euros/dollars (It doesn't cost more), it's so much better sounding version of this one of the best classic of Hanoi Rocks.

Saw Hanoi in London last night and I'm still shaking. It's just like the last 16 years never happened. They were FANTASTIC! Mike was on great form (what a performer) and Andy was very together (not like at the Mad Juana gig 2 years ago) he looks very well and his playing is better than ever. They played loads of old stuff (favouring the "Two Steps" material) as well as a few new ones. It was being filmed but I've no idea what for (any ideas?) The song links were seamless showing what professionals they are. If you weren't there you missed one of the shows of the year. Hanoi even today could teach any band on the planet a think or two. If anyone recorded any of the other shows then I'm definitely up for a trade (I'm already getting a copy of last nights show from someone I saw taping it)

Hi Markku, did you or anyone else spare the lyrics to Delirious(+Final Word + Downwardly Mobile) before they were removed from the lyrics section already years ago? There must be someone out there who printed them after getting his copy of JS-the Demos. I did print them but I´ve lost them since. There´s a guy out there who´s desperately tried to locate them, especially Delirious and I promised to help him the best I could.

Yeap, say a bitter goodbye to Michael´s solo career....he definitely has turned another side in his book of life. Maybe and quite likely Hanoi is going to selfdestruct in a little while or Andy´s gonna fuck things with Michael. Maybe then we´ll be able to enjoy pure Monroe- energy and poor and humble Michael, not Mike, again. Is he ever gonna be Michael again? But who are Makke and Matti? Never heard of them.

INFORMATION ABOUT MICHAEL MONROE'S FORTHCOMING SOLO ALBUM! The name of M.Monroes new record will be "Watcha Want" and it will be released in January, 2003 by a German record label SPV. It is also Michaels goodbye to both the record company and the solo career. Songs were secretly recorded in same studio session with Hanoi Rock's newest album in the summer of 2002. Together with Michael in studio there was also Pink Gibson who plays guitar on the new album. Songs are mostly original but there are also covers and a surprise song - Michael does a cover version (in English language) of Dave Lindholm's "Puhelinlasku on mun" song. ..WELL, what can I say? Can't wait to get it!!!
I KNOW EVERYTHING!

Ihmisia olisi mahtunut korkeintaan 100. Joten management paatti ettei paikassa voi soittaa rokkibandi. I'll stick to watching bands I love. I've seen many gigs and sometimes for whatever reason they don't go as well as they usually do. Shame really, but can you expect anyone to be perfect and everything to go perfectly all the time? Everyone has bad days and worse days.. Sorry to hear the experience wasn't so good for you as they can be the best live band around and Michael is an amazing energetick showman... Very sorry to hear the Leicester gig was cancelled! Hope there won't be more problems or cansellations with the gigs. (Was nice meeting you Mark, I assume you are the same from the Northampton gig or if not hello anyways...) Love&Light

Hanoi, 8th November, Newcastle Telewest Arena..... what the hell was going on backstage? The band were late, the two guitarists looked as if they didn't want to be there, Mike was off his face, and had several moody stomps off stage, Andy McCoy looked bemused and just shruuged to the crowd.... could have been brilliant, pity it wasn't. I'll stick to watching professionals in the future.

Delirious is originally Heavy Metal Kids song and Winged Bull is a song by Hall&Oates...What I've understood those are the only covers...I personally think that Delirious was excellent choice to the album, but Winged Bull wasn't that good choice...altrough it's a nice and beatiful song, but quite lame...

- Saturday, November 09, 2002 at 15:00:20 (EET)
henkka
- Saturday, November 09, 2002 at 14:54:19 (EET)

Hi, all Michael Monroe fans! A few months ago, I found a Hanoi Rocks record in a secondhand store. I remembered Slash, my first rock and roll idol wearing a Hanoi Rocks T-shirt. So I bought the album. So far I can't even get past the first song, it is so good! That guitar riff won't get out of my head! And Michael Monroe is the sexiest blonde I have ever laid eyes on! There is no doubt about it. Hanoi Rocks will be even bigger than the finish superstars Darude & HIM. Good luck!

milton keynes....overall great gig, the new song they started with was a real good un, drummer great player who seemed to be enjoying the gig, anyone else think bassist looks a bit like a mr suicide ? andy mccoy - great player..but i can't be the only one who thinks they would be much better off if he stopped his uncomprehensible ranting on & left the talking to mike, it's stupid when they both are talking at the same time...& mr mccoy also looks older than keith richards, sort of alf garnet gone fancy dress if you ask me pulling stupid faces left right & centre, looks like a frail old man. knock me if you like for saying this, but i bet others think the same as me. still good to see them back & i look forward to seeing the other gigs i'll go to.....oh yeah, hey diamond dogs don't you know there is a band from lancashire who have been calling themselves that for ages, they play all old glam covers like bowie, bolan, mott etc & are a lot more entertaining than the band supporting hanoi who play all rolling stones / quireboys covers (sure sounded that way)..

Milton Keynes was exquisite! Quite crowded with quite a few people travelling from faraway to see them. Gig was as energetic as always and was so cool to hear some of the new songs. People enjoyd it and the crowd was very friendly and nice I thought. Michael and Andy came after the show to greet the fans and give autographs and have pictures taken with them and all that.. Made many fans very happy.. Now I must get going and travel to Northampton for their second gig.. Woohooo..

"Johnny on the Rocks" is a live bootleg of Johnny Thunders and Hanoi Rocks performing together, not a Johnny Thunders album.

"Hurja kilpa-ajo päättyi kahden sivullisen kuolemaan lauantai-iltana noin kello 17.20 Helsingissä. Kaksi keskenään kisaavaa autoa eteni rinnakkain kovaa vauhtia Sörnäisten rantatietä pitkin keskustaa kohden, kun toinen niistä törmäsi vastakkaisesta suunnasta tulleeseen taksiin, joka oli kääntymässä vasemmalle Kaikukadulle. Yksi taksin matkustajista sinkoutui autosta törmäyksen voimasta ja kuoli heti. Toinen taksin matkustajista menehtyi muutamaa tuntia myöhemmin sairaalassa. Uhrit olivat vuonna 1953 syntyneitä helsinkiläismiehiä. Hurjastelijoista toinen jatkoi matkaansa, mutta ilmoittautui hiukan myöhemmin itse poliisille. Poliisi ei tiedä tarkalleen, millaiset lukemat hurjastelijoilla oli mittarissa. Sörnäisten rantatiellä on rajoituksena 50 km/h. Alkoholilla ei ollut osuutta onnettomuuteen. Why the big deal as to how many shots on rocks? 12, 13 or 142 shots even........doesn't exactly matter. Nena had 99 red balloons but I'm sure she would have coped with 66!

yikes!!!! gyp casino is eating a hamburger! i thought all the hanoi members were vegetarians... i guess i thought wrong... take a look at gyps face! to me he looks like an animal, haha! wonder what kind of drummer he was. he was probably better than razzle. he was the drummer of hanoi when michael and others were cleaning toilets in swedish metro tunnel and when they lived on the streets...

Vince & dsfsdffd, you're right. But I tried to explain why they dropped off one song. Don't take me serious! Jussi, btw. Johnny on the rocks is a bootleg album -> I bet, Michael doesn't even know that album.

the name is partially "stolen" from Johnny Thunders´ album Johnny On the Rocks. I´d say it indicates the number of songs

the hanoi album's name comes from the number of songs. I remember Mike saying that.

Can anyone tell me what's the deal with Michael's solo CD 'Whatcha Want?'. Like when is it "officially" coming out? See everyone at Camden!!!

Dear Me: Wouldn't it be logical if the number of the shots on the rocks will be number of the songs, so there will be 12 or 13 songs on the album...that's my theory...why it would be number of Michael's album's? It is Hanoi Rocks album after all...

12 or 13 Shots from the rocks??? This is my theory. If we count together all the studio albums by Mr. Monroe -> Result is 11. And because his forthcoming solo album was delayed, the next one will be his 12th album. (Yes, I know that SDB was a compilation, but I count it anyway)

I´ve had plans to put up a Swedish Hanoi Rocks site. You´ve got a lot fans over here who would appreciate it but I´m not sure whether I can "steal" info from other pages and just translate them or what. All this ´cos I would like to have an up-to-date Swedish site to keep the Swedes and the possibly also the Norwegians updated!

This is for Michael... You ancient rockstars should never ignore those ones who were supporting you in the past years. Success won´t come too easy. So if you want to be big and famous, you all should behave!!!And Michael, all the words of your solo songs are so much better than new Hanoi songs - thanxx to Jude, I guess??? I´m so sorry... These days are bad and seems that everything is getting worse. Commercial shit has reached my star and he is falling down... So sad I am.

Only a few more days and you'll be in the UK! Can't wait for Milton Keynes on Sunday. I wonder how the crowd at the gigs will differ from the Finnish scene.. Yup, I'm going to Camden Palace too, I think the whole Finnish population of London will be there :)See you soon! Love&Light!
