Please check out my Hanoi site. It may not be very professional but it's made with heaps of love and memories of the best band in the world. http://lynne.barnes.tripod.com/hanoi/

Got married a few weeks ago, what did I have for the first song? , the best song ever written of course, UNTIL I GET YOU has to be my fave song of all time, and I listen to a very wide variety of music. If this was released by a popular band it'd be number 1 for ages. I've seen Mr Monroe live (fantastic stuff), now I've got to see Mr McCoy (Although seeing him in England is probably unlikely, but it would be a dream come true.Life gets you dirty really is the best album so far for Mike and I know a hanoi reunion is not going to happen, but it would be fucking great if it did. Married life is great, a big hello to all the fans reading these pages, and has anyone received the T-shirt yet, I've given up. see ya later.

I'm disappointed that I'm unable to buy any of Michael's CDs in my local record stores. I have to track them down on the internet which is ok for me but not good for attracting new fans who just happen to pick up his CDs and think 'This looks groovy man. I'll buy it'. Why can't I buy them? After all, the stores are full of obscure bands no one's ever heard of. If the stores sell those, why not Michael's? I live in a MAJOR city in the United Kingdom, not in Outer Mongolia.

Some stupid shit-head had filed it with that crap English band The Happy Mondays. God, am I happy or am I happy?!! :-))))) Absolutely great fuckin' CD. I wanna be buried with my Hanoi collection! I do not judge Jude for her appearance.I judge her as a manager that she wanted to be so much.So what does Jude as a manager do? Why Mike don't play live around the Europe or States? Why are not his record avaiable in stores anywhere in Europe? Why are his lyrics such a deppressed since jude contribute? Maybe you have high IQ butyou are blind!

I was at work today listening to Hanoi and Mike on my walkman wondering why I why I love these guys so much. I began to think "why don't I like anyone else nearly half as much?" The answer is: they never sold out. They were true to themselves and did what they had to do. Man did they have ATTITUDE. They would've made great Sex Pistols - snarls, attitude and 2 fingers in the air. Just think what could've been if THAT accident hadn't happened. During his solo career Michael has stayed true to his roots and I think that's why we, the fans, remain loyal through the years. He may not be a multi-millionaire but his music has made me happy for almost 2 decades and I wanna thank him. Let the 'sell-outs' (Bon Jovi, Metallica etc) count their dollars coz Michael remains the greatest rock 'n' roller on earth. P.S. If you ever fall on hard times and need a place to doss or food on your plate Mike, you're welcome at mine. I make a great toasted bacon and tomato sandwich........LOL. Everyone's invited!!! Just bring the beer and cigarettes.

Great site Michael... ! i have a question for you... maybe a silly one but... anyway. You made love with how many girls since you are a rock star? Is it true that the rock stars (especially who make the kind of music you do) are always on the party... with a lot of girls????? just curious. thanks and michael... your the best!

M&J, J&M or whatever. I don't think it matters how I write it. As for GroupieCentral, what a good site for talentless muck-spreaders. I bet most of those 'contributors' are still in nappies and so darn ugly no one, let alone a rock star, would f*** them anyway. I'm sure Jude is woman enough to rise above their spiteful comments. It's sad when people verbally attack one another out of jealousy. Yup, the phrase 'Get A LIFE' springs to mind.

Hi! Read some rumours from this so called messageboard. Boy oh boy... judging people by their appearance, comments like "NN is like this to YY" (like everyone always had their best time in their lives, yeah) I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW SHAL(LOW) SOME PEOPLE CAN BE. I'm a Jude and Michael fan (or Michael and Jude fan, whichever way)and whatever their private lives, that "messageboard" obviously is for those who are interested in digging out the dirt. Honestly: do you consider yourselves sane? Who are you to judge? I tried to figure out what kind of people would be interested in, for example, my "dirtiest" secrets. I figure it would be the weirdos who don't have a life of their own!!! Get a life, instead of peeping into others' lives. It'll make you happier, too, you know? ALL THE BEST TO YOU, JUDE AND MICHAEL, and try to forget there are these weirdos around. Life is not fair, the world is not fair, and I guess we all have to deal with it, but you get a lot more sh*t than the average person. How you deal with it, I can't imagine, but I hope you're doing well!

Yoko, what's wrong with putting Jude first? She's the one who gets the abuse and venom levelled at her. It's not Michael who needs people sticking up for him! 95% of the crap at groupiecentral about M&J is snide spite and gossip not worth the effort of looking for. And if you're so sure you know the 'unbeautiful truth' Yoko why don't you spit it out instead of making vague insinuations? Because you don't know either?!

I have to say I'm NOT impressed with the GroupieCentral Michael Monroe thread. There's some pretty horrible things written there. I urge everyone NOT to believe what they read. Why do people have to be so mean? I guess they're jealous of Jude and Mike and the fact that it IS possible for 2 people to be happy together for so long. Long live Jude and Mike, that's all I have to say!

Real JD, thanks for your apology but as it wasn't you who posted the comment it's not necessary. It was a rotten thing to do, for someone to write insults in your name so you'd get blamed for it. I didn't mean to sound superior in my comments, it's just that this whole business has given M&J a lot of grief and Michael said on Finnish TV that it was in the hands of lawyers, so he couldn't answer questions. It would be nice someday if he chose to give a public statement but we should all know he doesn't owe us that. I agree with you that a printed story is public property and anyone should be free to read it and comment, even if it is highly unlikely that it's gospel chapter-and-verse accuracy from a tabloid paper. (Translating credits to Mr J!): Iltalehti 3rd May 2000 - Not even a driving licence - Mike Monroe drove on drugs - Rock star Mike Monroe, 37, is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drugs and driving without a driving licence. The police caught him by the wheel of a car on the 2nd of December in Hietalahdenranta. The case is currently under investigation in Helsinki. The singer of the internationally maybe most popular Finnish band Mike Monroe, aka Matti Antero Fagerholm lived for years with his American wife in Kiikala; made furniture and music. Earlier he lived in London and New York. Recently Mike moved to Turku. A couple of weeks ago he was the main attraction of a youth happening where the youth was given anti-drug education. Amphetamine and hash According to the investigators they found both amphetamine and hashish in Mike Monroe's blood. In body search they also found a small amount of hashish. Monroe had come to Helsinki from Kiikala on Thursday 2nd of December in 1999. The police paid attention to his irresponsible driving style and stopped the vehicle. Monroe didn't smell of alcohol. He tested zero on the alcometre. The behaviour of the idol was, however, so different from normal that the police took him to blood tests. Also he didn't have a valid driving licence. According to the investigators of the case, on the basis of the papers the matter seems like a clear basis for prosecution. On 16 of February the police left the case for the Helsinki district attorney's office. After the death of the drummer of Hanoi Rocks, the most public figure in the last few years has been Andy McCoy aka Antti Hulkko. Mike Monroe hasn't talked about his drug use publicly. He has only said that in the Hanoi Rocks times the band went too far in that side as well. After the end of the story of Hanoi Rocks Mike was the front man in the bands Demolition 23 and Jerusalem Slim. Both released one album.

A 'private matter' is no longer private when it appears in a newspaper. The STORY becomes the property of the public. It doesn't mean Michael's life is public poperty though. I respect his privacy. I don't believe EVERYTHING I read (I work in the newspaper industry). I only wanted to know out of a personal interest(being a big Michael fan). I'm sorry if that comment offended you. It WASN'T written by me. Someone else wrote it using my initials and I'm very upset someone would do this. I apologise on behalf of whoever it was if you were offended. I would still like to hear the English translation if you'd be kind enough to post it. Once again, I'm sorry for any offence this 'imposter JD' caused you. It was a cruel thing to do.

JD - What a petty, nasty comment. Sorry if my concern for Michael feeling's in what must be a lousy situation came off as moral superiority! I was going to send an English version of the report that appeared in the Finnish paper Iltalehti, which seems to be the extent of public info/reporting on what happened, but I'll leave that now for someone else who thinks you're worth the time.

Jude's birthday is June 24th. A big birthday wish from me too there. JD - what exactly happened that night is a private matter for Michael and the courts, if it comes to that. I wouldn't be surprised if it's something he's not keen to talk about so we should respect that and take whatever the papers may print with a large pinch of salt. I'm just looking forward to hearing when it's all been dealt with, keeping my fingers crossed that Michael gets the best result. That news can't come soon enough :-)

Greetings from China! Maybe this not relevant but I`d like to know how big was the success of Hanoi Rocks? How many records they really sold on the years of victory(and of course are still selling...)? I ask this because I`ve heard so many different versions about the case. For Example, ex-manager of Hanoi(S.V) said that band sold less than HIM`s first record (which means less than 70 000 copies). On the other hand Andy McCoy claims that Hanoi-recors have sold about million copies. What`s true, could somebody tell me. by the way, I know this M.M-site, not Hanoi-site. And finally: Am I only chinese Monroe / Hanoi -fan???

It seems Michael is singing a few songs for charity in an anti-drugs campaign (check out 'News' page on this website). That proves it then - if he's gonna be part of an anti-drugs thing, it's most unlikely he'd be doing drugs himself. That's real good news!

Hanoi Rocks' Anthology is actually called 'Decadent, Dangerous and Delicious' and was released on May 29th 2000. It's a double CD. As far as I know, the 'Best Of...' CD was released at about the same time. The Anthology CD is available over the internet (I can't find it in any shops where I live). what i've been reading messages here written in finnish most of them doesn't contain text that could be _so_ interesting for foreign people. so if you're not able to understand finnish don't worry - you're not missing much :).

I think it's a bit rotten expecting all the Finnish people here to write in English. Yes, in an ideal world it would be wonderful for us non-Finnish speakers to understand every guestbook entry but it's not an ideal world. I'm amazed at how much English you can uderstand and write. After all, I can't understand a word of Finnish! All I want say is a big 'thank you' to those in Finland who make the effort to write in English.

still something about mike and drugs.. if he uses them he uses them and if he don't then he don't. we can't do anyhing about it except just to hope, that he's gonna be okay. with or without drugs, it's his choise. anything is possible. i surely hope he's gonna be ok 'coz there would be too many people who would die if michael would. mike if your reading this keep yourself and us alive! ja sit vähän suameeki.. vittu ku tääl turuus ei oo yhtään rokkipaikkoja. ei ihme ettei michaelia nää keikoilla kauheesti täällä kun ei oo yhtään virallista rokkimestaa. bluestockissa on välillä jotain meininkiä, mutta muuten pelkkää teknodance paskaa joka paikassa. ennen oli sentään downtown, mutta eikös sekin oo muuttunut piin myötä samaan suuntaan? ainakaan mitään hyviä bändejä ei oo näkynyt.. saatana! ps. jollain tietoa missä suunnalla turkua michael asustaa?

Geeze...weird shit can happen when you post your phone number on the internet man. I wouldn't advise anyone to do that.

Just want to say how sad I am to hear about Michael and this 'drugs thing'. If it's true then I'm heartbroken. He's brought so much pleasure into my life for 20 years. I never want it to end. I'm from Michael's generation and most of us come to our senses by our mid-30s and realise drugs just don't do it anymore. I don't want to see him travel down that road. I don't want him to end up another DEAD rock 'n' roll star. What the fuck good is that to anyone? Michael, you CAN have attitude without having shit pumping through your veins. I don't want anything bad to happen to you. You are wonderful. XXX
