I live in a very small town in WV and I had no way of finding
out anything about Michael's music until I got connected to the
net today. It's wonderful to find out he's still alive and making
music!

Michael is one of the most underated underground rock heroes
of our time. He has definately had a huge impact on bands as
far as musically and image-wise. With all these tribute albums
coming out, Mike deserves one dedicated to covering Monroe songs
as well as Hanoi and his other projects.

A friend of mine recently located a 2CD Best of Hanoi Rocks set
which included a booklet with tons of information on the band,
included bios and even info on Demolition 23. However, the booklet
is completely in Japanese, which we cannot read. I am wondering
if this set is available in English. I would be very interested
in getting it. P.S....Michael, come back to NYC!! I continue
to wait for the day when I log on to your site and see a show
listing in NYC....don't make us wait forever!

I was lucky enough to see Michael's gig in Tammerfest. And now
my problem is how to describe the show without using too many
superlatives. The show was absolutely fabulous, Michael is at
the moment in excellent shape. I mean, he has to be in excellent
shape when he runs around the stage over an hour. The show ran
about 70 minutes and there were no dead moments, Michael took
the audience with him and made us really sweat. The band was
great and Michael was brilliant (did I say that already?). The
songs were great, although some of them were unknown for me (I've
missed part of Michael's solo career, shame to confess) but what
really was out of this world was the show itself, there is no
doubt that Michael Monroe is one of the World's greatest Rock'n'Roll
singers and performers. I haven't seen such a show in long time.
And after all that bragging I still feel that my comments are
underestimating Michael's performance. I mean, there is no way
to describe it with words, you have to see the show to believe
it. I was surprised to see Michael in such a great shape, maby
my overenthusiastic reaction partly comes from that. I was afraid
some kind of "best of Hanoi Rocks" show but luckily
I was wrong.

RAUMA, SUOMI FINLAND - Monday, July 20, 1998 at 12:01:47 (EET
DST) Hi I just want to thank Michael for an excellent
show in Tampere last thursday. He's definetely still one of the
greatest rockstars in the world. I had been travelling all the
way from Sweden just to see Michael and no doubt it was worth
the money. /Fredrik

I am so glad to finally have the closure that Michael is still
alive and well. . . . and best of all. . .MAKING MUSIC!!! I've
been wondering what happened to him since the release of "Not
Fakin' It," which still spends more time in my deck than
any other cassette. Now I just need to get my hands on everything
he's done since then (didn't even know about his stint with Demolition
23). Anyway, Michael is and always will be a superstar. . . painfully
ahead of his time. . . Not only is he to be admired for his glam-punk
flambuoyancy, but for his eternal "I don't give a fuck attitude".
Keep rockin', Matti, and get your ass back to the US. . . ASAP,
alright? P.S.- I'm glad to know that it's not either DEAD or
JAIL. Stay you, SHAY P.S.S. - I would love for Michael to see
this mail to let him know how sorely he is missed. Wait until
I tell my friends where our HERO is.

Just got the spankin' new Backyard Babies CD-EP "Highlights".
It features Michael (sax, harmonica, splitvox with Nicke) on
the song "Rocker". It's worth every penny on the strength
of that cut alone, but the rest ain't too bad either! Way to
go Michael!! Can't wait till next spring for Michael's new material...

niin siinä sitten kävi, mulla oli aamulla telkkari
päällä ja koisasin sohvalla! Siellä sitten
haastateltiin Mikeä ja mä luulin et nään
jotain unia. Siellä tuli make it go away(ainakin mä
luulen niin) ja mä oon ihan varma et lauloin sitä mukana.
Niin ja sit mä näin sen biisin aikana unta lavalla
heiluvista tyypeistä turkit päällä. Viimein
mä virkosin ja silloinhan toivoteltiin jo hyvää
kesää! vähän raivostutti.Pitäis aina
olla selvillä koska noita haastatteluja on. No näin
mä sit sitä kirjeosuutta. Joten voisko joku kertoo
mitä Mike sanoi? Nähdään torstaina keikalla
Tampereella!!!

So nice to see Michael on TV. Michael looked as fresh as ever.
Michael told about his next album, the material for the (long-awaited)
next album is ready, but Michael is currently searching for a
record label that will promote the album more (than Poko Records
did with the superb Peace Of Mind) Can´t wait to hear the
new songs!! See U at Tavastia 08.08.98

Michael, your vocals and playing were suberb on the new single
of Backyard Babies. "Rocker" is no doubt the best track
on the record. - What about doing a gig in St.Petersburg? They
love rock'n'roll, but the most popular band in the town is called
"Tequilajazz", so that tells quite much about the quality
of bands there! You could show the way for rockin' in the most
beautifull city in the world(, after Helsinki)!

Hey Mike or Jude, I'm just writing this and praying that maybe
you'll read it. You seem very active touring in Finland right
now. I know Markku posts all news and updates as fast as he get's
it, but I'm sure alot of your fans want to know the answer to
a few questions. For instance, Have you begun recording new material
yet? If so, any tenative release dates yet? Do you plan to records
solo like on Piece of Mind" or will you be recording with
the band you are currently touring with? Finally, as always,
do you plan on returning to the U.S. for any tour dates? I hope
you guys read this and are kind enough to respond on the website.
Your fans are very curious and anxious. Hope all is well, and
continued best wishes to the both of you. Mike McHale

Does anybody out there want a copy of the Japanese Hanoi biography
book? I have one to spare, will sell but would prefer to trade
for Hanoi/Michael magazines or VHS PAL footage. Also, can anyone
in Finland or Sweden help me in getting hold of backissues of
magazines like OK and Suosikki? I would trade or pay all costs,
likewise if anyone would send me new mags with Michael articles.
Help much needed, will be much appreciated :-)

TERVEHDYS MAKKONEN Tutustuin juuri näihin sivuihin ja nolottaa,
miten paljon vähemmän suomalaisia juttuja pyörii
täällä...mutta älä sure ei sinua ole
unohdettu täällä...monet ovat vain liian köyhiä
omistaakseen tietokonetta millä matkustaa. Olen iloinen
huomatessani, että sinulla pyyhkii hyvin ja ihmiset ovat
kiinnostuneita ja on oikein tämmöiset sivutkin.Kaikkea
hyvää ja tsemppiä!!! Sinun uraasi on ilo seurata,
toisin kuin Anttin tekosia, ei sinun juttujasi tarvitse sääliä!!!
Oletko koskaan saanut keltaista villakaulaliinaa ? Muistaisin
joskus nuoruudessani Hanoi-keikalla sellaisen jollekkin roudarille
jättäneeni. no ne oli niitä aikoja ne ja nyt vaan

This is a plea to all fans out there, I'm hoping some kind people
will help me out! I'm a long-term fan of Michael and Hanoi but
I'm isolated and out of the loop with current info. I'm wanting
to know if Michael's fan club is still active? Also, is there
anyone out there who speaks either Finnish or Japanese kind enough
to help me at last understand the reams of articles I have in
these languages? If anyone would be willing to help me out I'd
repay the favour in whatever (legal ;-) way I could. Heck, if
there's *anybody* out there who'd like to keep company with a
slightly weird but basically decent 21 year old lonesome female
fan please write and let me get to know you :-)

Hi Mike, Happy Birthday to YOU!!! Today is my birthday, (6/30/62),

had a nice birthday and that every- thing is going well for you,
hopefully one day you will come to NJ and play, we would love
to have you - don't give up on the American scene, we love you
