I came to the website today to check it out as I always do faithfully. I read the special greeting Markku had written - "1st Anniversary of the Michael Monroe Website". It inspired me to write this short passage to thank Markku for his hard work and a job well done! Thanks to this website, we are able to obtain news on a daily basis, communicate with each other, and even get a message to Michael at times. I'm thinking back to the highlights of this year realted to Michael Monroe and they are all connected to this website. From seeing him perform in Toronto, to getting to ask him questions, and having the ability to obtain unreleased material! Markku, it's been a wonderful year. Keep up the great work and I hope that Michael can keep you even busier with updates in 1999. Happy New Year to Markku, Michael, Jude, and all of Micheal's fans around the world. Oh, and Michael, we need to hear your NEW release this year, not just the upcoming re-issue of Piece of Mind! Let's Rock like F**K in 1999!!!!!!!!!!!

The J.S. The Demos CD is a revelation! The 4 songs left off the original Jerusalem Slim are all great, the sound is unbelievably good for a demo, and Steve Stevens doesn't overplay all the time like he does on the final album. I find myself liking these versions FAR more than the originally issued official versions, now I truly understand why Michael disowned the album at the time. Forget Jerusalem Slim, and get this instead!!!!

I saw the Motley Crue documentary, also. Vince Neil is a complete asshole, and he could give a shit less about Razzle or the other people who were hurt in that car accident. All you have to do is look at his stupid face and you can see the man doesn't care. In my opinion, he only likes to talk about it because he thinks it helps his phoney image...Also, I remember reading an interview with Michael Monroe, years ago, where he said the Crue asked him to replace Vince after it looked like Vince might go to jail. To his credit, Michael told them to fuck off.

Response to the MR.Lambchops comments about Mötley Crue documentary: I saw same program, Mötley Crue behind the music. I agree with you that Vince is an asshole because he drove drunk and killed Razzle. But Vince also said that he should have been punished more. He was not proud that he bought himself out. Anyway, I don't like Mötley Crue. They are a punch of clowns. Vince is fat and an awful singer too.

Some of the songs are pretty damn good, for example track 3, but spoiled with the most horrible guitar sound and guitar solos. Anyway... I expected something like that. Let´s hope that some of those tracks will be re-made and next time with some taste. Happy X-mas!

The Jerusalem Slim Demos rock!!! The quality is amazing!!! I actually like some of the song mixes better than the final mix on the actual disc. The unreleased songs are awesome!!! I still can't figure out why Michael didn't like the music he made with Steve Stevens. Anyhow this is a true GEM!! Buy it before it is gone!!!!

"Lights Out" was written by Dr. John (aka Mac Rebennack) and it was originally performed by Jerry Byrne in 1957. More information about Dr. John available at http://www.drjohn.com/.

Thanks for that info. on "Lights Out" Wayne! Now I feel a little foolish assuming that Michael had alot to do with creating it. At any rate, it is similar to the roots of Little Richard, which we all know Michael loves. I'm gonna look into that Johnny Winters version too. Thanks again! That's what this guestbook is for: to help each other out discovering cool music and new factual info.

Michael, this may not be the place to do this but i have to vent somehwere about the late Nicholas Dingley (RIP). Recently VH1 in the States had a special called Behind the Music with Motley Crue. Here is what Vince Neil had to say about killing Razzle. , "How's that for irony? I go out and cause all this destruction and come out unscathed!" and "I was the O.J. of the early eighties. I bought my way out of jail." Michael I guess you were right when you summed up the lyrics to Too RIch to Be Good. Vince , you son of a bitch. Burn in hell. Regardless if it was Razzle you killed or not, you showed no remorse or compassion.....and I was not a big Crue fan before and now I just destroyed your cd's while playing Scum Lives On , in rememberance of Nicholas Dingley. Razzle your memory will not wear off as time wears on. God Bless ...and thank you for everything

Hello Michael Monroe fans, Just got my J.S. Demo in the mail. It's the best Christmas present I ever bought myself. It kicks ass! Here's just some of my opinions and observations of these demos. Delirious - Kicks ass. Excellent cover tune from the Heavy Metal Kids (As some people have brought to our attention in this guestbook). Michael used to cover this song during his Grand Club gigs in 93'. It is awesome now that we have the opportunity to have it on Cd. Dead Man - seems to have more of an edge on the demo. Here's the biggy folks. I was immediately pissed off when I heard Downwardly Mobile. Why? Because it seems to me that maybe Steve wrote parts of the song giving him the rights to pursue with it on Vince Niel's first solo album. If any one has Vince's album, listen to the third song "Can't have you cake" Uncanny resemblance, huh? Anyway, Downwardly mobile is a great tune. I just think it sucks that it Steve pursued it elsewhere (Especially considering the circumstances). Moving on- "Lights Out"- cool tune! My guess? I think Michael had alot to do with this song which seems to stem from his influence of Little Richard. "Lethal Underground" - I actually liked the final mix better, because it seems to me that the guitar riff in the beginning seems to be more violent and chaotic giving the song more attitude. Obviously, Teenage Nervous Breakdown and R & R Degeneration were already audible on the official CD. "Final Word" may be one of my favorites. It seems to have a Hanoi edge, or maybe better put, a true Michael Monroe edge to it. It was great to hear the Sax, and what an ending!!! Classic!! I do like the demo version of Hundred Proof Love better because it has a better sound to it. The High Hat on the drums and the Harmonica is much more audible on this version I have to say that I'm impartial to Attitude Adjustment, and Gotta Get a Hold. It's too hard to judge because I can say I like different parts more on either versions. At any rate, it's always nice to hear songs in the early stages. The World is Watching? The instrumental is very cool to have for a change of pace! In all honesty the guitar work is beautiful. But I am also glad to have the official release, because the lyrics in that song are excellent. In all, The demos definitely have more of an attitude, more of an edge to them. It was true Michael Monroe music at that point. And A must own for all of his fans. Thanks Michael and Markku for making it available to us. I hope it helps Michael financially a little bit. Overall, I like the demos better than the final mix, but I do think the final mix is worth while for any Monroe fan, as well. Have a great Christmas everyone!!!

Hey Michael, my name is Kristian and I am 26 years old.I've been a fan of you and Hanoi Rocks since '87. I've just recently gained access to a PC with Internet. When I found your HomePage I was truly excited, and here are some questions I'm dying to ask you: Q1: Have you ever concidered to re-record "Cutting Corners" which in my opinion is one ofe the great forgotten Hanoi-songs? Maybe you will disagree about its obscurity, but it's true when you talk to people about Hanoi Rocks they always mention stuff like ; Tradegy, Taxi Driver and Mystery City? Q2: Are there any of the old Hanoi guys you think of as a friend in the present, and are there any chance that you will reform Demolition23? Q3: Back in the early nineties I read in some different magazines that Stiv Bator prior to his dead had made some recordings with some of you Hanoi guys and people from Dog and the Medics. Do you know what happened to these recordings? Q4: I know that Nasty and Andy have released some records in Finland in the late nineties, is it something you can recommend and is it trashy Rock'n'Roll? Q5: In '94 or '95 it was announced on MTV that Demolition23 was in the proces of making a homevideo. Has it been released? Q6: Have you ever concidered to form a band with Izzy Stradlin, who in my opinion is the most talented guy from Guns n'roses( and the coolest looking)? I hope that you can see time to answer all my questions. Love & Support ForEver - Kristian.

I got my copy of J.S. The Demos today - a lot sooner than I had expected. It was a nice surprise. The quality is also much better than I had expected. Album quality - and the demos sound much punchier than the officilal album versions. Well worth having. Thanks for the C.D. Much appreciated Michael

What a x-mas gift! I really haven´t listened to J.S since i bought the album a couple of years ago, and therefore i didn´t really expect the demos to be that great. (However, anything that Michael has ever made is SIMPLY brilliant.. hmm, that sounds a bit illogical) But to my surprise the CD is superb! After hearing Delirious, the song quickly made its way to my TOP-10-LIST of Michael´s songs. Thank You for the best x-mas gift this year! (Now i really can´t wait for the next album to be released.....) (Not to forget the European version of Peace of mind!) Steve Stevens should be prohibited to enter a studio! Rockin´Merry Christmas to all Mike / Hanoi fans around!

I put the "J.S The Demos" on with mixed feelings recalling Michael's earlier comments about the demos vs. the final mix and also vaguely remembering how the final cut of Jerusalem Slim CD sounded like. First - Delirious. I was stunned. The clarity of sound and the powerful performance itself. Same applies to the rest of the bunch. Dead Man is actually very good, so is Downwardly Mobile. Lethal Undergroud excels this time all the way. Final Word is a nice little rocker. I cannot believe this is the same band. After the first couple of rounds I reckon Michael sounds more like home on these "Demos" and shines throughout. The arrangements are far superior to the final cut and the sound is more in a balance when Mr. Stevens is not all over the place. Even he seems to be somewhat enjoying himself. This really rocks. This is actually so good that I will give a lot more spins to it. I would not mind if Michael even forgot about this ill-faithed venture and included a couple of songs to his live set too. Even though J.S. was not the marriage made in heaven, some of the songs were good when you can actuallly hear them. The only tune which I mildly enjoy more on the 'official' release is Gotta Get A Hold where I think Michaels a bit smoother and fragile delivery serves the melody better. Only Attitude Adjustment still sounds harsh and outta place to me on both of them. This collection of demos stands up proudly among his other excellent work. I do not mind him being bootlegged this time either because these demos should have been released in the first place. Thank you and especially Michael. I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Have a good one with your loved ones! / heikki

Sorry folks about Finnish but... Keep on rockin'

Michael Your music is constantly fantastic and I look forward to hearing your new album 'Peace of Mind'. You may remember that my band Waterbratz supported Demoloition 23 when you played in London at the astoria a few years ago. Sadly the band split up but I am working with Hilda the singer again and we're in the process of putting a new band together - no name as yet. Perhaps we could support you again if you play London with your new band - it would be a real honour. If anybody wants info on the new band please Email me. Can't wait for the new songs. Nick
